Business Development Manager

 

We are the global leaders in flood risk management and we are looking for an experienced Business Development professional to join our busy and expanding team, ensuring the successful roll out of our world-leading data and helping to shape our future.

Your role

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for building and nurturing a pipeline of new opportunities and supporting our revenue targets. You will also be responsible for managing and supporting many of JBA’s partners and clients. Working with a cross collaborative team of model and mapping experts, you’ll help build awareness and knowledge of our catastrophe models and flood hazard data to enable our partners to grow their range of products and services containing JBA’s data. You’ll also work with our wider Business Development team to help define and develop our product roadmap, making sure we meet our client needs.

The team member we’re looking for

You’ll need to be commercially minded and a good communicator to build trusting relationships with prospects and clients and our strong network of resellers. You’ll enjoy working both alone and as part of the team, and be organised, adaptable and capable of innovative thinking in a challenging business environment. A typical week might include negotiating contracts, establishing product marketing strategies, and acting as the voice of the client within our product development process. As a result, you’ll need excellent numeracy, presentation and report writing skills, attention to detail, and to be comfortable with innovative technology.

Previous experience working within the insurance & financial sectors is highly desirable. Knowledge of underwriting, pricing and natural catastrophe risk management practices would be advantageous as is experience of working with resellers and/or data providers.

The job will be based in the UK+/-1hr, preferably at our new head office in North Yorkshire; however, location is negotiable for the right candidate.

Location

Full-time or part-time remote working will be considered for this role. If office-based, the role will be located in our modern, eco-friendly offices at Broughton Park, near Skipton, North Yorkshire.
